Information we collect when you visit our website

We collect and use information from website visitors in accordance with this section and the section entitled Disclosure and additional uses of your information.

Web server log information

We use third party servers to host our website through AMERCIANEAGLE.COM HOSTING, the privacy policy of which is available here: https://www.americaneagle.com/legal/privacy. Our website server automatically logs the IP address you use to access our website as well as other information about your visit such as the pages accessed, information requested, the date and time of the request, the source of your access to our website (e.g. the website or URL (link) which referred you to our website), and your browser version and operating system. Our servers and our backup disaster recovery facility are located in multiple locations throughout the USA and, accordingly, your information is transferred outside the EEA. Use of website server log information for IT security purposes

Our third party hosting provider collects and stores server logs to ensure network and information technology security and so that the server and website remain uncompromised. This includes analysing log files to help identify and prevent unauthorised access to our network, the distribution of malicious code, denial of services attacks and other cyber attacks by detecting unusual or suspicious activity.

Unless we are investigating suspicious or potential criminal activity, we do not make, nor do we allow our hosting provider to make any attempt to identify you from the information collected via server logs.

Contact form

When you contact us using our contact form, we collect name, email address, IP address and any other information you provide as part of the form request.

If you do not provide the mandatory information required by our contact form, you will not be able to submit the contact form and we will not receive your enquiry.

We do not record phone calls.

E-Newsletter

When you sign up for our e-newsletter on our website and/or opt to receive news or offers from us by providing your name and email address and clicking subscribe or ticking a box when filling out and submitting a form indicating that you would like to receive our e-newsletter, we collect your name, email address and ask for additional optional information including your business name, phone number and physical address.

Consent: you give your consent to us sending you our e-newsletter by signing up to receive it using the steps described above.

Transfer and storage of your information

We use a third party service ExactTarget (part of Salesforce Marketing Cloud) to send out our e-newsletter and administer our mailing list. Their privacy policy is available here: https://www.salesforce.com/company/privacy/.

Information you submit to subscribe to our e-newsletter will be stored outside the EEA on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud servers located in multiple locations throughout the USA and in our Content Management System servers located in multiple locations throughout the USA. Engaging with the Chat option

When you click on the Chat option on our website, we collect the information you provide to us including your name, email address, phone number, postal code, and information about your sign and graphic project.  A transcript of the chat conversation is sent by email to the FASTSIGNS location you have selected and/or that is nearest to you based on your location. An employee from that location will follow up on your request by phone and/or email.

Consent: you give your consent to us selecting the chat button and engaging with the chat operator.

Transfer and storage of your information

Information you provide during the chat session will be stored outside the EEA on the Chat 24/7 live servers located in the USA.

Registering on our website for a “My Account”

When you register and create a “My Account” on our website, we collect the following information: first name, last name, email, postal code, and any other optional information you provide to us such as phone number, company name and address.

Logic involved: automatically displaying advertisements to individuals who have visited our website results in increased efficiencies and costs savings for us than manually displaying advertisements or displaying advertisements by different means.

Profiling

Profiling is any form of automated processing of your information to evaluate personal aspects about you, in particular to analyse or predict things like performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or movements.

Use of profiling for web analytics

Our web analytics service, Google Analytics, uses and collects information such as your location based on your IP address and your behaviour based on cookies when you access our website, this includes pages you visit and what you click on and time on site, number of pages visited, frequency of visits and search terms used when finding our site. We will only process information from cookies if you have consented to us setting cookies on your computer in accordance with our cookies policy (https://www.fastsigns.co.uk/cookie-policy).  Information collected about you, once collected, is anonymised and stored on an aggregate basis. We do not collect or profile your performance at work, economic situation, health, or reliability.

Logic involved: by automatically analysing and categorising information such as the location (based on IP address) as well as the behaviour and devices of visitors to our website (using cookies), we are able to gain a better understanding of what our website visitors want (in terms of the content of our website and our products), how to improve our website and how to advertise and market our services to them.

Significance and envisaged consequences: cookies will be used to track and store information about your behaviour and device on our website (unless you have opted out from receiving such cookies by opting out from analytical cookies used on our website) and your location will be analysed based on your IP address. We may target advertisements based on the level of interest we receive from certain visitors and their behaviour on our website.

Use of profiling in marketing emails: We do not use web beacons, however we use other technologies provided by our third party vendor, ExactTarget (part of Salesforce Cloud) for tracking  our marketing emails, to analyse our emails and what actions are taken (for example, email opens, clicks, undeliverable messages, and other online activities as a result of the email marketing newsletter.  We will only process information if you have consented to receive our newsletter (or soft opted in before 25th May 2018) and are not opted out of our email newsletter program in accordance with our cookies policy at https://www.fastsigns.co.uk/cookie-policy.

Logic involved: by analysing how our email recipients respond to our emails, we are able to improve the content and effectiveness of our emails and gauge who is most interested.

Significance and envisaged consequences: your behaviour when you open our emails will be tracked using ExactTarget (part of Salesforce cloud tracking technologies).   This tracking includes open rates, click through rates, opt out rates, bounce rates and web pages you’ve visited. We do not display the identities of all of our service providers publicly by name for security and competitive reasons. Information you submit to us via our contact form is transferred outside the EEA and stored on the servers of our third party hosting company, AMERICANEAGLE.COM and shared with the FASTSIGNS location you selected (when applicable) by email.  If a file is uploaded using the Request for Quote or Consultation, it is sent to the selected FASTSIGNS location and a copy of the uploaded file is stored on the servers of our third party file management company SEND THIS FILE located in the USA. Files are stored there for 14 days.  Information submitted is also stored in our third party content management system (SiteFinity), and with our third party email provider (Google LLC)

Safeguard(s) used: All data transmitted between Chat 24/7 Live and their server is protected with SSL and TLS encryption. As another layer of security, Chat 24/7 Live uses a firewall which receives SSL and TLS encrypted data, filters that data according to preset security standards  then sends the filtered data to their server.

Google Analytics

FASTSIGNS does not participate in Privacy Shield at this time.

Necessary for the performance of the contract between FASTSIGNS and you

We provide voluntary services; you can choose whether or not you want to use the services. However, if you want to use the services, you need to agree to our Terms of Use, which set out the contract between FASTSIGNS and you.  FASTSIGNS operates in in the USA and uses technical infrastructure in the USA to deliver the services to you. In accordance with the contract between us, we need to transfer your information to the USA as necessary to provide the services. Simply put, we can’t provide you with the services and perform our contract with you without moving your information outside of the EEA.

Other valid mechanisms

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and after it is received.  We use third party providers to transfer and store our website contact forms. This information is sent using SSL encryption and the data is stored in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Sensitive Personal Information

‘Sensitive personal information’ is information about an individual that reveals their racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic information, biometric information for the purpose of uniquely identifying an individual, information concerning health or information concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation.
